Girls Day Out!

This weekend we celebrated mine and my moms belated birthdays. My sisters wanted to take us out. Kind of a girls day out. My sister Tina lives so close to everything so we decided to meet at her place. We decided to go out to eat first we went to McGraffs sea food at the Gateway. I got some yummy pasta with sun dried tomatoes, artichokes and shrimp. It was so good. My daughter Lacey didn't get any seafood she got a California burger without the California in it. She doesn't like avocados or tomatoes. The waitress gave it to us on the side because the rest of us enjoy avocados. Afterwards we walked around the gateway and wandered in bath and body works and we all found some wonderful scented lotions and perfumes to lavishly rub all over our dry winter bodies. I could bathe in the stuff and my skin would still be like a desert. We next went to the movies we saw The Bucket List it was very good and touching at the end of the movie. I like everything that Morgan Freeman comes in. It is a very good show with a good message. I learned that you need to try to have fun in life. even when life isn't so fun and Live life to the fullest. And last we went back to Tina's and chatted for awhile. I love spending time with my sisters and mom. I wish my sister Jennifer in Seattle could have been with us but hopefully we can get together again real soon. having sisters is great!

Birthdays and Holidays come and gone.

Christmas has come and gone. And the New Year has begun. I am always a little melancholy this time of year. As I am putting away all the Christmas decorations I can't help but remember the past. As I look at the old ornaments that my children have made while in elementary school all the hand made snowflakes with their pictures on them or the decorated wall hangings of hand prints and toothless grins, the I love you mom Merry Christmas cards. I think of how wonderful their young years were. I miss their excitement during the Holidays.

Despite all my yearnings for the past , we still had a wonderful Christmas and fun birthdays. We all received a new coat and a new game. I received a under the cabinet CD/radio. Alex spoiled me and got me a kitchen aid mixer. He has been saving up for new tires and wheels but he wanted to make me happy and very surprised. We even got to talk to Peter for awhile and found out that he is doing very well. Since I didn't have to work over the holidays. I was able to do all the happy homemaker things I love to do this year I made pajama pants and home made stockings. I made goodies and played Christmas songs on the piano. I went to the festival of the trees. We took our mothers to a play at the old barn theatre. As a family we gave some gifts to an angel tree. And I listened to carols and watched all my favorite Christmas movies. It even snowed a lot.

As for Birthdays Alex had a fun surprise party at his best friends house with lots of girls. I bought him some air brush paints and tools and we went to his favorite place to eat Mandarin Gardens and got tiny spicy chicken. For my birthday we went to see the movie national Treasure.

Even thought I miss the past I look forward to the future. I can't wait until we are able to visit Sam and J.J. and the best part is that I get to be a grandma this year. It is also fun to set New Year resolutions it's like you get to start over and hopefully I can achieve my goals. I hope that all of you will have a great 2008.
